Simone
Ellis assisted in the founding of the Naropa Institute in Boulder Colorado,
where she apprenticed with resident Beatnik old masters. She's a San Francisco Art Institute (Film) graduate who worked as a performance artist in urban American before moving to
the bush in Canada for three years. For five years Simone was the chief art critic at the Santa New Mexican. Her articles have been syndicated by AP and UP. Simone's written and produced
documentary coverage for Pacifica News and NPR. Her published books include Rosy
Belligerents (Poltroon Press, Berkeley CA) and Santa Fe Art
(Random House). Currently Simone resides in hyperspace and Montana, where she writes on the arts for the Missoula Independent, does a
monthly column for *geekgirl* on Web art, and curates shows for the U of
Montana Art Museum.
